The Ancient Dambulla Cave Temple
Buddhism is one of the main religions of Sri Lanka. Dedicated to Lord Buddha, the Dambulla Cave Temple was constructed on a hill between 993AD and 1250. In addition to Lord Buddhas, some Hindu deities are also supposedly represented here, though we did not see any. The roof of the cave is hand painted by natural colours and the sculptures are hand made and hand painted too. Free to view, this is a not to miss sight in Sri Lanka
