Pehlwani is a form of wrestling from the South Asia. It was developed in the Mughal Empire. It is likely that the word derives from the Iranian word "Pehalavi" denoting an Iranian people. Wearing only a well-adjusted loincloth (langot) "Pelwhans" enter a pit made of clay, often mixed with salt, lemon and ghee (clarified butter). it's an ancient subculture where wrestlers live and train together and follow strict rules on everything.
