Floating Vibrance

A temporary village of fishermen which floats over the Loktak lake in Manipur. These fishermen spend 9 months in an year in these floating huts while fishing in the lake and anchor as needed. Loktak is the largest feshwater lake in North-East India. Loktak is famous for the phumdis (heterogeneous mass of vegetation, soil and organic matter at various stages of decomposition) floating over it. Keibul Lamjao National Park, the only floating national park in the world, is also located here
